FAIRFIELD, Conn. Temperatures are creeping closer and closer to triple digits in Fairfield. And the crowds at the Fairfield Public Librarys two branches are following suit. The town Health Department designated the libraries as Fairfields official cooling centers.

Both the Main Library, located at 1080 Old Post Road, and the Fairfield Woods Branch Library, at 1147 Fairfield Woods Road, are open until 6 p.m. Friday evening. Both will reopen Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
