Fairfield Students Play In Music For Youth's Benefit Concert

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The 2013-14 Music for Youth "Rising Stars" Benefit Concert will be held on Sunday at 5 p.m. at Trinity Church in Southport.

All proceeds from the "Rising Stars" concert will go to the programs of Music for Youth.

The show will feature eight performances by young musicians from Fairfield County. A reception in the Trinity Church Fellowship Hall follows the concert. The church is at 651 Pequot Ave. at Center Street in Southport.

Ticket prices range from $20 to $50 and can be purchased here. You can also call 203-938-3843. All proceeds from the concert will go to the programs of Music for Youth.

Music for Youth is a non-profit organization based in Westport. Their mission is to bring classical music, professionally performed, into the lives of young people in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

Executive Program Director Cynthia Cummiskey, states "We firmly believe that classical music can be a transformative element in the growth of every young person, and that helping create the next generation of performers and audiences is of the utmost importance to society."
