Fairfield GOP Candidate Thanks Supporters

On a hot July day not long ago, Fairfield got to see democracy in action. The Fairfield Republican Party held a caucus to determine the party’s slate of candidates for the November municipal election. Political rookies and veterans alike threw their hat in the ring for offices such as first selectman, selectman, Representative Town Meeting, Board of Finance, Board of Education, zoning and others. Republican voters had the opportunity to choose which candidates they wanted to run in November. I was honored to be one of the candidates they selected.

I would like to personally thank all those voters who braved temperatures approaching 100 degrees to cast their ballots in locations all over town. I would also like to thank all the volunteers who worked at the polling locations, either checking voter IDs or working for individual candidates. Thanks also go out to my colleagues David Becker and Hugh Dolan for running a spirited and respectful campaign.

It is impossible to run for public office without the support of family and friends. I would like to thank my wife Maureen, my three children, my parents and my entire family who believe in me and work so hard on my behalf. My campaign team has worked tirelessly. My friends from childhood, PTA, Little League and the Fairfield RTC have supported me from the beginning.

I am looking forward to hitting the campaign trail with my running mate Jim Walsh, as we deliver our message of fiscal responsibility and long-range vision to our neighbors and fellow citizens. The journey is just beginning.
