Fairfield Filmmaker Wins Award At Catskill Mountains Festival

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Farifield's Carrie Ferrante, a screenwriter/director, was awarded a “Catty” at the inaugural Catskill Mountains Film Festiva.

Ferrante, a 2012 graduate of Long Island University at the C.W. Post campus, was the winner of the College Narrative Feature category for "Us & Them," which she wrote and directed.

The film explores the complex friendship of a fledgling high school teacher, played by Steve White, and his troubled female student, played by Elizabeth Spano.

This is the latest in a series of honors for "Us & Them, which also was recognized at The Long Island Film Expo, The Silent River Film Festival, The Naperville Independent Film Festival, the Honolulu Film Awards, The Indiefest, and the Maverick Film Awards.
