Fairfield Duckie Derby Team Springs Into Action

Spring is still almost two weeks away, but one group of Fairfielders is already looking ahead to the warm weather. The planning committee for the fourth Fairfield County Duckie Derby gathered last week to start planning the annual fundraiser.

On May 21, families from all over Fairfield County will launch more than 1,000 rubber ducks down the Mill River to raise money for St. Catherine Academy, the Diocese of Bridgeport’s special needs school. Donors can buy “Race Ducks” for the half-mile sprint downstream, or “Decorate Me” ducks for a creative fashion show. For more information, visit the event’s website.
