Fairfield Doctor To Speak To Cancer Survivors

Are you, or is someone you know, recovering from cancer? Dr. Richard Frank of Fairfield wants to help you get through it. Frank, the head of Norwalk Hospital’s Wittingham Cancer Center, will speak at the Pequot Library Wednesday, Dec. 15, about his book “Fighting Cancer With Knowledge and Hope.” The talk is the first in a series sponsored by the Connecticut Challenge for cancer survivors and their families.

“The CT Challenge wants to make sure that all cancer survivors and their families, no matter where they are in their cancer journey, are empowered with information to make the best choices possible about the care they receive,” said Christian McEvoy, Director of the CT Challenge Center for Survivorship. “We share Dr. Frank’s belief in the power of people to move through and beyond their cancer diagnosis.”

Frank said that he designed his book to offer answers to any questions that cancer sufferers and their families might have after the initial diagnosis. It describes how cancer spreads, how it can be prevented and treated, and how friends, family and victims can deal with terminal cases.

Frank’s talk will start at 7 p.m. at the library, 720 Pequot Ave.,  Southport. The event is free, though Frank will have copies of his book for sale.
