FAIRFIELD, Conn. – A group of Fairfield Brownies want your help in their efforts to collect donations for the Westport Humane Society. The girls have set up collection boxes around town to gather items for the animal shelter through next week.
The collection drive is part of a community service project by Brownie Scout Troop 30112, based out of Fairfield’s Osborn Hill School. The collection will run through April 8.
Boxes are now waiting for donations at the following locations: Chef’s Table (1561 Post Road), Media Wave (1596 Post Road), Sweet Rexie’s (1552 Post Road), Fairfield Ice Academy (85 Mill Plain Road) and the Osborn Hill School lobby (760 Stillson Road) during school hours.
The Humane Society has requested the following items: peanut butter, cat and dog toys, new or gently used towels, blankets and bedding (must be machine washable), large garbage bags (heavy duty only), reusable grocery bags, cat and dog treats, bones and biscuits, Hill's Science Diet kitten food, extra-large Ziplock bags, six-quart Tupperware food storage bins, new or gently used cat carriers, dog crates, and rabbit/small animal cages, bedding for small animals like rabbits and Guinea pigs, 9-Volt and AA batteries, dryer sheets (Bounce brand only), and paper towels.
