The b-Cause Foundation was started recently to help raise money to improve the lives of Connecticut’s children, the organization said. Its latest event is the Lego Block Party, which will feature building displays by Master Builder Bill Probert and Fairfield teen Julia Lawlor. Kids will also have the opportunity to build and play with their own creations at stations in the event.
A previous Block Party at Fairfield Ludlowe High School in November raised $65,000 for Make-A Wish Connecticut and Operation Hope. Money raised from this weekend’s events will go toward the Discovery Museum’s outreach programs for students in Bridgeport.
“The Discovery Museum and Planetarium has evolved over the past 50 years to become Southern Connecticut's preeminent non-profit educational resource for science and space education,” event chair Stacey Wymbs said in an email.
The Block Party will take place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum’s regular admission fee of $9.50 per adult and $8 for kids, seniors and students still applies.
