FAIRFIELD, Conn. Doris R. Studwell, a longtime Fairfield resident, died April 27 at home. She was 78.
She was born Nov. 11, 1933, in the Bronx, N.Y. Married to Robert E. Studwell, she was an active member of First Church Congregational in Fairfield. Studwell was a longtime active volunteer of several organizations, including the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. She loved traveling with friends and family, spending time on the beach and playing cards.
She is survived by three daughters, Diane Crawley and husband Earl of Kentucky, Beth Weaver of Stratford, Robin Bond and husband Tim of New Jersey; a son, Brent Studwell of Stratford; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Church Congregational, with the Rev. David W. Spollett officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Red Cross or American Cancer Society.
