FAIRFIELD, Conn. Dominic L. Colavito of Fairfield died May 2. He was 79.
An Army veteran, Colavito had been a resident of Fairfield since 1964.
Born in the Bronx, N.Y., he was the son of Rocco and Frances Colavito. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Colavito was the retired president of Printed Circuits Unlimited Inc. in Bridgeport. He was married to Helen A. Colavito for 56 years.
As a longtime member of the Patterson Club, Colavito was a successful golfer. He also won many bowling trophies in his early years. True to his Italian heritage, Colavito often made homemade pasta and meatballs for his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Colavito is survived by his wife, Helen; two sons, Rocco D. Colavito of Trumbull and John R. Colavito and wife Donna of Fairfield; a daughter, Lisa A. White and husband Andrew; a brother, Frank Colavito of Milford; and nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Rose Tedesco and Kathryn Recchia.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, follow by burial with military honors at Oak Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. Spear-Miller Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
