Dianne Millington, 71, Fairfield Real Estate Agent

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Dianne E. Millington of Fairfield died April 26, after a battle with cancer. She was 71. 

Millington worked as a real estate broker for more than 30 years, most recently for Nicholas H. Fingelly Real Estate in Southport. 

Born Dec. 22, 1940, in Lowell, Mass., she graduated from Mary Louis Academy, Wood School in New York City and the Real Estate Institute. Millington was a member of the National Association of Realtors, Connecticut Board of Realtors and the Fairfield Board of Realtors. 

Her volunteer activities included serving as an officer of the Women's Republican Club of New York. She also volunteered for Fairfield Public Schools and as a Girl Scout leader. She was a founder of Protect our Districts, a member of the Greenfield Hill Improvement Society and a former member of the Fairfield Representative Town Meeting. Millington was an avid gardener, lover of books and supporter of many animal causes. 

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Hoby Millington; a daughter, Jennifer Vermeulen and husband Jay; a son, Jamie Millington and wife Kelly Barnes; and three grandchildren. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent's Medical Center Foundation, 2800 Main St., Bridgeport, CT 06606. Spear-Miller Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
