Buick, in partnership with the NCAA, selected Keith as part of its Human Highlight Campaign Reel, which honors former NCAA athletes who have had an impact on their communities through their charitable organizations.

On Saturday, Buick will host Keith and his guests and make an on-field presentation at halftime of the second semifinal game in recognition of the positive impact the Connecticut Challenge has had on the lives of cancer survivors throughout the country. The Challenge's Center for Survivorship in Southport is its primary support vehicle in aiding survivors throughout Fairfield County and the state.

Keith lost his leg to cancer at the age of 12 but became an accomplished athlete and Division 1 lacrosse player at Boston College, graduating in 1984. In 1985, Jeff became the first cancer survivor and amputee to run across America.

In 2005, he founded the CT Challenge organization to empower cancer survivors to live healthier lives through new programs in exercise, nutrition and  psychosocial support.
