Coco Needs a Home in Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Say hello to Coco. This 9-month-old chocolate Labrador retriever showed up at Wednesday’s Board of Selectmen meeting looking for a new home. Coco is “still in that puppy phase,” as Animal Control officer Bill McDonough said, meaning she’s very energetic and playful.

Coco is the fourth pet to be showcased as “Wednesday’s Pet,” started by Selectman Sherri Steeneck to draw attention to the dogs and cats in the Fairfield Animal Shelter that need homes. The other three, Odi, Missy and Ouch, have already found homes, thanks to the program.

You can take Coco home by calling the Fairfield Animal Shelter at (203) 254-4857 or visiting 211 One Rod Highway. You can also check out Petfinder to see all the animals the shelter has waiting for adoption. The shelter charges $5 to adopt spayed or neutered pets. The cost is $50 for a pet that isn’t fixed, but that includes a coupon for the procedure.
