FAIRFIELD, Conn. Barbara M. Kretvix, 76, of Fairfield, died Tuesday, April 3.
Kretvix worked as a paraprofessional at McKinley Elementary School in Fairfield for many years. She was also a longtime parishioner of Holy Family Church in Fairfield.
Born in Bridgeport to the late Charles and Anna Markoya, she was a lifelong area resident. She relished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and puzzles.
Kretvix is survived by two daughters, Patricia Choser of Fairfield and Lori (Roberto) Burgos of Bridgeport; a son, Richard W. (Kathy) Kretvix of Stratford; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard J. Kretvix, and a sister, Nancy Melkonian.
Friends may greet the family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home in Fairfield Center. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery.
