FAIRFIELD, Conn. Alicia Anne Hinds, 44, of Fairfield, died at her home home on April 13 after a long-fought battle with breast cancer.
She was born to Charles T. Nacy and Lillian R. Dresselt on April 30, 1967, in Glens Falls N.Y. Hinds spent her childhood and teenage years in Hudson Falls, N.Y., graduating in the top five of her class in 1985 from Hudson Falls High School. She was also a member of the National Honor Society, choir, Spanish Club and swim team, ran cross country and was an all-star member of the softball team.
Hinds earned bachelors and masters degrees from the State University of New York at Albany. She was employed by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, rising to the position of a senior manager.
In her spare time, Hinds enjoyed reading, gardening, playing softball, watching the New York Yankees, listening to music and spending time with relatives and friends. Over the last few years, she became a talented jewelry maker, giving away her unique creations to appreciative friends and family.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Joseph; three daughters, Colleen Ann, Elizabeth Marie and Katherine Alicia; a brother, Richard C. Nacy of Worcester, N.Y.; a sister, Karolyn M. Savoie of Gloversville, N.Y.; her maternal grandmother, Helen Dresselt; an uncle, a cousin, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Spear-Miller Funeral Home in Fairfield. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Fairfield.
Hindss family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary skills, professionalism, loving care and friendship provided by doctors and nurses from Whittingham Cancer Center at Norwalk Hospital, Yale School of Medicine, Yale University Gamma Knife and Yale New Haven Hospital.
