Activist Kicks Off New Aspetuck Land Trust Lecture Series

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- The Aspetuck Land Trust recently kicked off its new lecture series with a presentation by activist and author Bill McKibben on climate change at the Pequot Library in Fairfield.

More than 200 members of the Aspetuck Land Trust from Fairfield, Easton, Weston, Redding and Westport heard McKibben's report on the risks and challenges within the global climate change public policy debate.

McKibben is the author of the book, "The End of Nature" and is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, The Atlantic Monthly, Harper's, Orion Magazine, Mother Jones, The New York Review of Books, Rolling Stone and Outside. He also is a board member of the Adirondack Conservancy.

McKibben criticized American response to climate change in his presentation saying, “A bipartisan effort to do nothing has been wildly successful."

The Aspetuck Land Trust is a nonprofit land conservation organization founded in 1966 to preserve open space in the towns of Westport, Weston, Fairfield and Easton.
