Well, mark your calendar for Sept. 9, when the town of Fairfield will host its third annual Electric Vehicle (EV) Showcase.
The town will mark National Drive Electric Week with this display of electric cars and bicycles available for a peek and maybe even a test drive for those who want a driver’s-seat perspective.
Hosted by the Fairfield Clean Energy Task Force, the Greater New Haven Clean Cities Coalition and the Southwestern Connecticut Clean Cities Coalition, the event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the commuter lot at 140 Mill Plain Road, across from the Eunice Postol Recreation Center and Sportsplex.
The showcase brings together local car dealers, electric car club members, local EV owners and the public to view the newest EV models and learn about the current state of the technology.
“Supporting vehicle owners who have decided to ‘go electric’ is a vital part of our Town’s commitment to making Fairfield a more environmentally sustainable community,” said First Selectman Mike Tetreau. “We’re proving that commitment by offering the highest density of electric vehicle charging stations in southwestern Connecticut with more installations planned.”
Admission to the showcase is free. The MOC Eatery Gastro-Pub on Wheels food truck will be on site and complimentary water will be provided by Aquarion.
