Rising From Floods Of Sandy: Fairfield Reopening Penfield Pavilion

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The public is invited to the official ribbon-cutting and grand reopening of Penfield Pavilion in Fairfield on March 7.

The pavilion, which was shuttered after it sustained major damage in Hurricane Sandy in 2012, was the center of a $7.4 million restoration project.

Workers are putting the final touches on the building, which boasts new locker facilities and a newly paved parking lot.

The grand reopening begins at 5 p.m. at the pavilion, 323 Fairfield Beach Road.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled to 5 p.m. March 10.
