The library is seeking artists for its 18th annual art show, which runs from Oct. 16 to 23.

The show, called "Exploring the Landscape of Art, Exploring the Art of Landscape," is open to all artists working in any style, subject, or medium.

Abstract or realistic, all subjects and styles are welcome.

The show, filled with art and events, is one of Pequot Library’s most important fundraisers.

In celebration of October as the National Arts and Humanities Month, Pequot Library has expanded its traditional art show to include a week full of activities for people of all ages.

There will be children’s workshops, a community art exhibition, and a gallery talk about the founder of Pequot Library’s annual art shows, Enid Munroe.

Local and regional artists will participate in a newly established weeklong Plein Air, or painting outdoors, competition and art sale.

Other events include a children's art show workshop on Friday, Oct. 9, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Silvermine Arts Center leads a kid’s program, called "Silvermine Arts Center at Pequot," on Saturday, Oct. 17, from noon to 2 p.m.

Another program for kids, titled "Furniture Factory!" will be a part of a Pequot Woodshop by helping assemble art stools and cabinets for the soon-to-be-renovated Children's Department, on Friday, Oct. 23, from 5 to 7 p.m.

The premiere preview benefit party kicks off the 18th annual art show on Friday, Oct. 16 from 6 to 9 p.m.

An addition to this year's annual art show is the Plein Air Pequot Competition.

The art entry deadline for submissions to Pequot's art show is Oct. 3.
