The Friends of Fairfield Public Library are hosting the first-ever Fairfield Food Truck Festival from noon to 7 p.m., Oct. 1 at Jennings Beach.
The daylong event benefiting the library features everything from Source Coffee House’s Buzzbus to tasty Thai rolled ice cream from Cocoanutsct.
“This is an affordable, family-friendly event and a great way to cap off a wonderful summer,” said Friends of Fairfield Public Library President Margo Kaminsky. “The proceeds will help the (library) continue to serve people of all ages in Fairfield and beyond.”
Admission is $5 and children under 12 get in free. There is free parking, too, and the food trucks will charge their usual rates.
Among the many food trucks whipping up wares will be Fire Engine Pizza, The Belgian Bus, DrewbaQ, The Local Meatball, Cinnamon Churros, Firehouse Grill, Hapa Food Truck, Super Duper Weenie, Happy Rays Ice Cream, Moon Rocks Gourmet Cookies and Edison’s Famous Ice.
“I am thrilled to be part of a food truck festival right in my backyard,” said Gary Zemola, owner of Super Duper Weenie. “Come down and bring your appetite, because there will be a lot to choose from.”
