Directed by Lara Stolman, who will be on hand for a Q&A, the film follows three teammates nearing the point of “aging out,” the age when eligibility for government services diminishes significantly.
Taking place over the course of a year, the film covers heavy yet important topics and the team’s triumphs as they strive for independence, inclusion and a life that feels winning. It chronicles how three families harness the power of community to transcend disability.
“The Special Education Program is very excited to bring this inspiring documentary about a positive inclusion experience for students with ASD to Fairfield University," said Alyson Martin, Ph.D., co-director and assistant professor of Special Education. "This event will assist with raising awareness about inclusive practices for students with ASD on our campus."
The Special Education program, part of the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions, is hosting the 6 p.m. screening at the Quick Center for the Arts.
