Fairfield Museum Registers Little Ones, Tweens For Winter Programs

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Fairfield Museum will host winter programs for children in various age ranges this winter.

Children ages 4-6 can join Miss Annie of Great Beginnings Montessori School to celebrate diverse holidays and to explore the history of Fairfield A new session of “Miss Annie’s Museum Munchkins” begins on Wednesday, Jan. 4. Sessions, which are four weeks long, run throughout the spring. Each day children will focus on a new theme, hearing a story, creating a unique craft and viewing some of the Museum’s fascinating exhibits. Miss Annie's Museum Munchkins meets on Wednesday afternoons from 4-5:30 p.m.

Session 3 runs from Jan. 4 through Jan. 25, and Session 4 runs from Feb. 8-March 1. The fifth and final session runs from March 15 through April 5. 

In addition, the Museum will offer a new session of “History By Hand” led by Fairfield Museum’s Director of Education Christine Jewell. The classes for children ages 8-12 meet on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The next session begins Jan. 31.

Learning basic skills, techniques, vocabulary and safety, students discover their own talents making unique sewing and collage projects inspired by history, including decoupage, patchwork pillows, cute animals and colorful block quilting. Students will also have time to choose their own projects and inspirations.

Fairfield Museum will host another session of the popular “Lion’s Studio” art enrichment classes. The next session begins on Feb. 6 and runs through March 20. The class is for ages 7-9 and meets from 4-5:30 p.m..Participants will discover and discuss the works of master of contemporary art and influential icons in the design industry to make an array of beautiful projects.
