What To Do In And Near Fairfield This Weekend

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Here are a few highlights of things to do in and around Fairfield, Easton, Weston and Redding this weekend, including summer reading, outdoor concerts and a major road race. See our Events calendar for more items.

Friday, June 21 Children’s Summer Reading Kickoff Party: 6 to 8 p.m. The Weston Public Library starts the summer reading season with a picnic on the library lawn, featuring games, food and music. 56 Norfield Road, Weston.

Saturday, June 22 Arts and Crafts Boutique: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce runs an outdoor craft fair with more than 40 vendors on Fairfield’s Town Hall Green. The sale continues Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 675 Old Post Road, Fairfield.

Bossy Frog Band: 1 p.m. Children’s musicians the Bossy Frog Band plays a special concert as a fund-raiser for the Pequot Library. Tickets include one free CD for each family that attends. 720 Pequot Ave., Fairfield.

Sunday, June 23 Fairfield Half Marathon: 8:30 a.m. The Stratton Faxon Fairfield Half Marathon starts and ends at Fairfield’s Jennings Beach. A 5K will also start from the same location Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Both races help raise money for local charities, and include post-race parties with live music on the beach. 1000 S. Benson Road, Fairfield.

Yippee Coyote Concert: 6 p.m. Roots-rock band Yippee Coyote performs a free show on the Redding Town Green as part of the Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer Concert Series. 37 Lonetown Road, Redding.
