Friday, June 28 Sand Jam and Outdoor Movie Night: 6:30 p.m. The Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department starts its summer movie nights with a kids’ dance party hosted by DJ Melvin Parsons, followed by a screening of “The Lorax” at about 8:45 p.m. on Jennings Beach. 1000 S. Benson Road, Fairfield.

Saturday, June 29 Champions Co-Ed Softball Tournament: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Softball teams from around the area play a weekendlong tournament at Fairfield’s Tom Hayden Field to raise money for the Cancer Support Community of Southern Connecticut. The tournament continues Sunday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. 210 Old Dam Road, Fairfield.

Weston Farmers Market: 9 a.m. to noon. Vendors from across Connecticut gather to sell produce, baked goods and more in the lot of the Weston Historical Society. 104 Weston Road.

Sunday, June 30 Mary Beth Sippin and Goldrush Concert: 6 p.m. Country group Mary Beth Sippin and Goldrush performs a free concert on the Redding Town Green as part of the Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer Concert Series. 37 Lonetown Road, Redding.
