Participants actively bring harmony and balance to their lives by practicing these soothing movements. Each class comprises classic tai chi and qigong warm-ups, gentle and dynamic flowing movements, and guided meditations. Increase flexibility, strength, and the immune system; quiet the mind and reduce stress. Learn the benefit of standing meditation for improving sleep and a before-bedtime routine of simple forms and self-massage.
No prior experience is required and all ages are welcome. Tea served after practice. The cost is $45 for five sessions, online in advance at pequotlibrary.org, or $10 per drop-in individual session.
Instructor Julie Moffat is certified through the Institute of Integral Qigong & Tai Chi. She has studied a variety of qigong styles and is a member of the National Qigong Association. The five sessions are on Fridays April 24; May 1; May 8; May 15; and May 22. Participants are asked to wear comfortable, loose-fitting seasonal outdoor attire as necessary.
