A U-Haul truck will be on hand to transport items. IRIS is in need of furniture for bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms and living rooms. All items must be in good, usable condition. Trinity has hosted this drive for IRIS, an organization that accepts refugees and other immigrants from around the world, with great success three years in a row. IRIS' mission is to enable those refugees and other displaced people to establish new lives, regain hope and contribute to the vitality of Connecticut’s communities.
Refugees are men, women and children who fled their countries of origin due to persecution on the basis of their race, nationality, religious belief, political opinion or membership in a particular social group. Any donation —big or small — can make a difference in someone else’s life.
For more information about the drive or any of the community-enriching programs at Trinity Episcopal Church, contact the main office at (203)-255-0454 or visit their website here.
Trinity Episcopal Church is at 651 Pequot Ave., Southport.
