Seasons Readings is produced by JIB Productions and is a performance of "irreverent and irresistible short plays and stories that shine a holiday light on human nature at its best and at its worst but guaranteed to put everyone in a fabulously festive frame of mind," according to a JIB Productions release.
Seasons Readings entrances the audience with humor as the stories travel from the lower East Side with Grace Paley's "The Loudest Voice," across the country with Tina Fey's "Celebrity's Guide to Celebrating the Birth of Jesus," through a riotous rehearsal of "The Nutcracker" in Fred Stroppel's "Land of the Sweets," off to sea with William Lederer's "A Christmas Ballad for the Captain," back to another account of a holiday production in Wolcott Gibb's 1936 story "Ring Out, Wild Bells" and back home again as Matt Hoverman explores the pull between the disasters of the past versus the possibilities of the present in his play "Going Home."
The cast includes Susan Terry, Fairfield's Susan Vanech, Stratford's Katie Sparer, Chris Wilkes, and Southport resident Stephen Stout.
Tickets are $30/each in advance online at pequotlibrary.org or at the front desk, or $40 at the door.
A reception with cast members will follow the one-hour performance.
The Sunday event is 4 to 6 p.m. in the auditorium at the library, 720 Pequot Ave. in Southport.
