The following is a sampling of parades and dedications taking place across Fairfield County. Feel free to comment on our Facebook page and add any we've missed.
Greenwich:
The Byram Veterans Association will hold its Memorial Day parade Sunday, May 29. The parade will begin at 2 p.m. in downtown Byram.
The Glenville parade will also be held Sunday, May 29 at 5 p.m. The parade will begin on Glenville Street and end at the Glenville Volunteer Fire Company on Glenville Road, where a ceremony will be held.
The Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department parade will be held Monday, May 30. It will begin at 10 a.m. at the corner of Sound Beach Avenue and Shore Acre Drive, and will end at Binney Park, where a ceremony will be held.
Stamford:
The parade will be held on Sunday, May 29 at 11 a.m., beginning at the corner of Summer and Hoyt Streets and concluding with a ceremony at Veterans Park.
Darien:
The parade will held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 30, beginning at the Goodwives Shopping Center on Old Kings Highway North and continue to Spring Grove Cemetery, where a ceremony will be held.
New Canaan:
The parade will be held Monday, May 30 at 9:30 a.m., and conclude at Lakeview Cemetery, where a ceremony will be held.
Norwalk:
Rowayton will hold its parade on Sunday, May 29 at noon. The parade will begin at the Community Center and continue to downtown Rowayton.
Norwalk will hold its parade Monday, May 30 at 10 a.m. The parade will start at Veterans Park and conclude at the Town Green on East Avenue.
Westport:
The parade will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 30, starting at Saugatuck Elementary School, continuing up Riverside Avenue, over to Post Road and on to Town Hall.
Fairfield:
The parade will begin Monday, May 30 at 10 a.m. It will move from South Pine Creek Road, move along Post Road to the library, and continue on Old Post Road past the Town Green to South Benson Road. A town picnic will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on the Historic Town Hall Green.
Bridgeport:
There will be a parade beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 30 at Veterans Memorial Park.
Stratford:
A ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 30 at Academy Hill, with a parade stepping of at 12:15 p.m.
Shelton:
The Derby-Shelton Memorial Day Parade will take place on Monday May 30, at 9 a.m. beginning on Howe Avenue at the Intersection of Route 8 in Shelton and concluding at the corner of Elizabeth Street and Cottage Street in Derby.
Trumbull:
On Monday, May 30 there will be a ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at 7 a.m., followed by a ceremony at Town Hall at 8:30 a.m. At 10 a.m. there will be a parade from Marisa's to Town Hall.
Monroe:
The parade will take place Sunday, May 29, beginning at 2 p.m. at Lower Elm Street and Route 111 and proceeding to the New War Memorial on the Town Hall Green, where a ceremony will be held.
Easton:
The parade will begin Monday, May 30 at 9:30 a.m. at the Easton Fire House on Center Road and conclude with a ceremony at 10 a.m. at Easton Town Hall.
Weston:
The parade will begin at 10:45 a.m. on Monday, May 30 on School Street.
Weston will also hold its Memorial Day Fair Friday, May 27 from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29 from 2 to 10 p.m. and on Monday, May 30 from noon to 4 p.m. at Hurlbutt Elementary School.
Redding:
A parade will be held Saturday, May 28 from noon to 1 p.m. The parade will being at Redding Elementary School and conclude at the Memorial Stone at the intersection of Cross Highway and Sanfordtown Road.
Newtown:
There will be a Memorial Day ceremony at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 30 at the VFW Post 308 at 18 Tinkerfield Road.
Danbury:
A parade will be held Monday, May 30 at 9:30 a.m. It will begin at Kennedy Park and conclude at Rogers Park, where parachutists will descend onto the baseball field and a ceremony will be held at the Rose Memorial Garden.
Ridgefield:
The parade will begin Monday, May 30 at 11:30 a.m. at Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church and continue down Main Street to Ballard Park where a ceremony will be held.
Wilton:
A parade will be held Monday, May 30 at 10 a.m., starting at Wilton Center and continuing to Hillside Cemetery
Brookfield:
The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, stepping off from Brookfield High School. The annual Strawberry Festival will take place in conjunction with the parade from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brookfield Historical Society.
Sherman:
The parade will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 29 at Judds Corner and end at Veterans Field.
