Davis was called "arguably the most charismatic female performer in rock" by Robert Hilburn of the Los Angeles Times. As frontwoman for new wave band The Motels, Davis reached the Top 40 with singles "Only the Lonely," "Suddenly Last Summer," "Remember the Nights" and "Shame."
Following her 1987 solo album "Policy," Davis collaborated with artists such as Ivan Neville and Jeff Daniels before returning to the stage in 2012 with a new incarnation of The Motels.
