At 1 p.m., there will be a performance for young listeners and musicians (grades 2 and up) and at 3 p.m., a winter concert. Both performances are free.
At both concerts, the trio will perform a “Musical Journeys” program, exploring the musical imaginations of three centuries: Beethoven’s expansive and irresistible Archduke Trio, the sparkling Rococo of Haydn’s Trio in G Major and Ravel’s surreal and evocative Trio in A Minor.
Music students will collaborate with the trio at the performance for young listeners.
Both concerts will be in the Memorial Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road. Registration is requested due to limited seating.
The Lions Gate Trio is composed of Darrett Adkins, cello; Katie Lansdale, violin and Florence Millet, piano, with Peter Alexander, musical director. The library is fortunate to host the Lions Gate Trio at Soundwaves concerts twice a year through the generosity of the Friends of the Fairfield Public Library. The Friends graciously underwrite the concerts, as well as the reception that follows, providing an opportunity for the audience to meet the artists and enjoy some light refreshments.
