Learn To Write A Computer Program At The Fairfield Public Library

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- An international initiative to promote computer education is underway so the Fairfield Public Library is offering everyone, from age 6 to 106, a chance to learn "How to Write a Computer Program" on Dec. 5.

To participate, bring a laptop or tablet to the library, or use one of the library's computers. The program features a self-paced, online tutorial consisting of puzzles that use a simple, video game-style interface with familiar characters from Star Wars, Minecraft, and Angry Birds. Staff will be there to answer questions. 

Registration is only necessary if you plan to use one of the library's computers.

The class will meet Saturday, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road in Fairfield.
