Fairfield University To Host Lewis Wickes Hine Photo Exhibit

FAIRFIELD, Conn.-- Fairfield University’s Thomas J. Walsh Art Gallery, located in the Quick Center for the Arts, will host an exhibit of 51 photographs from famed American photographer Lewis Wickes Hine from Sept. 12 through Nov. 26.

The exhibition, called "Lewis Hine: The Rise of a Landmark,” uses Hines photographs of the construction of the Empire State Building at every stage of the process, from breaking ground to rising above the New York City skyline. 

"Lewis Hine: The Rise of a Landmark" was organized by George Eastman House in Rochester, N.Y. The exhibit is free and open to the public. 

The gallery's hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
