The exhibition is a tribute to the students and teachers at Fairfield’s two high schools, three middle schools and 11 elementary schools, exemplifying the progression of work from kindergarten through high school. Art will be displayed in the auditorium/concert hall, reading room and Rennell Room.
The show is an opportunity for the students to display not only their work from each grade level but to demonstrate the building blocks of Fairfield’s art program.
Students' subject matter will range from figurative animals to abstract self-portraits. There were black-and-white pen-and-ink designs, paper structures, colorful paintings, wire figurines, vases, digital photographs and unique clay vessels.
The public also is invited to enjoy the Advanced Placement student art exhibition in The Perkin Gallery at the library through May 28.
The library is at 720 Pequot Ave, Southport.
