Darien residents Tracy McEvoy and Amy Pomponi will co-chair the festival, and Norwalk Grassroots Tennis will be this year's beneficiary. Grassroots Tennis is a nonprofit charity dedicated to giving tennis education and skills to children from low-income families.
The festival will feature special events such as a preview cocktail party, a holiday Gala, a mother-daughter-doll Tea, a children's event and a meet and greet with tennis professionals Gigi Fernandez and Patrick McEnroe.
The Fairfield Christmas tree Festival was founded in 1981 and is led by a group of volunteers to raise money and awareness for local community projects. Each year, 100 percent of the net proceeds go to a designated charitable organization, and so far the annual tradition has raised more than $3.5 million for local charities.
The festival this year takes place at the Burr Homestead at 739 Old Post Rd.
