Listen to a professional-level 16-voice Chamber Chorus, known for impeccable performances as the library presents “Shakespeare at the Library,” with Music on the Hill’s Chamber Chorus performing words of The Bard in a variety of musical interpretations. Artistic Director David H. Connell will conduct.
The Chamber Chorus will present musical settings of Shakespeare’s sonnets and songs from the plays, including “Three Shakespeare Songs” by British composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. The program will also include “Songs and Sonnets from Shakespeare” by British jazz pianist George Shearing, as well as modern reinterpretations from such popular musicals as Bernstein’s “West Side Story” and Cole Porter’s “Kiss Me, Kate.”

Music on the Hill is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to high-quality music performance and education for all ages. Under the dynamic leadership of its artistic directors, Connell and Ellen Dickinson, Music on the Hill offers workshops, concerts and four performing ensembles.
