The event will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Rotary Room at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road.
Brinchman’s book details how Whitehead, a German immigrant and inventor, built and flew the world’s first successful , sustained, powered, manned airplane in Fairfield, two years before the Wright brothers flew at Kitty Hawk, N.C.
Books will be available for purchase at this event. Registration is requested.
Brinchman, a retired educator, grew up in Fairfield and has been researching Whitehead and little-known facts about aviation history for the past 30 years.
She is the daughter of the late Maj. William J. O’Dwyer, as well as his former research assistant.
