FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- Every gal needs some pampering and Pink Soda Blow Dry Bar, with locations in Newtown and Fairfield, offers just that.

The salon, which opened in Newtown in April 2015 and in Fairfield in December 2015, is all about blowouts, up-styles, makeup, organic spray tanning, hair treatments and parties for ages six to 60. So explained Owner Wendy Brown, a Newtown resident with an esthetic background.

Brown said her intention originally was to partner with her 23-year -old daughter, Kaylee, which is how the name for the business came about. "I wanted to do something that reminded me of Kaylee's childhood," she said. The name, which she said took her awhile to come up with it, harks back to a seltzer with a splash of cranberry that Brown used to make for Kaylee when she asked for a "pink soda."

"In my opinion, the name goes with the whole brand of being bubbly, fun and fizzy," she said. (That's "fizzy," not "frizzy," folks!)

During the start-up process, Kaylee decided she wanted to be in a different field though Brown said she's a huge fan of Pink Soda Bar's services, and often the first one to come in for (free!) services.

As for what's hot at the moment, Brown says the bohemian inspired look where it looks like the guest just left the beach is a popular request. They also do a lot of what Brown calls “the Ibiza roll," Pink Soda's signature look.

"What we do is roll the hair in Ibiza brushes to set the hair -- Ibiza has the best brushes out there and are the gentlest on the hair -- then we wrap the hair and let it set during the blowout," she said. "This offers a ton of volume and will last and last."

Brown said her staff definitely has fun and likes to take blowouts to the next level. "We are very lucky and very proud to be doing as well as we are in both locations," she said. "We strive to provide not only fabulous hair but fabulous service."

Which may mean more locations in the future. Said Brown: "We'd love to open more in Connecticut and also start to blanket the New York area but for now, it's one blow dry bar at a time... actually, two!"
