Having worked in consumer package goods, she offered a range of products — from shoes to handbags to jeans.

“I worked while she napped and then when she was at school,” Esposito-Bender said. “And it grew and it grew.. and grew and grew. And the only thing that, every time I put it on eBay it sold, was lingerie.”

With 11 years of experience in the intimate apparel line, Esposito-Bender recently christened In the Mood Intimates, a new full-service lingerie business in Fairfield’s bustling Brick Walk.

The tasteful shop carries bras, panties, shape wear, hosiery and maternity items, as well as a selection of pajamas, swimwear and sports and loungewear. Esposito-Bender and her co-worker Shanell Molina are both certified bra fitters, who can help any woman find the perfect undergarments for her unique shape.

Having studied trends and tested brands for more than a decade now, Esposito-Bender carries several top names, including Chantelle, Panache, Le Mystere, Hanky Panky and Commando. The Fairfield resident will soon offer Wacoal and Natori.

“And if we don’t have it, we’ll get it for you,” she said.

Fairfield Chamber of Commerce President Beverly Balaz and Fairfield Community and Economic Director Mark Barnhart congratulated Esposito-Bender at a recent grand opening with family and friends.

The owner’s husband, Michael Bender, raised a toast to his wife, saying her hard work and dedication has paid off in the new shop.

“Her vision just made it come to life,” he said.

In the Mood Intimates is at 1275 Post Road. The shop is open Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fans can still order online at www.inthemoodintimates.com
