According to AAA Northeast, the average gasoline price has increased by 1 cent compared with last week. The current average price for a gallon of regular gas in Connecticut is $2.29, which is 8 cents lower than last month and 96 cents lower than a year ago.
Nationally, the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular is $2.22. The average is 3 cents higher than last week, 10 cents lower than last month and 71 cents lower than the same period in 2014.
Prices have increased slightly due to oil supply disruptions from unplanned outages in the Midwest.
In the Nutmeg State, prices average $2.40 in the greater Bridgeport and Stamford areas, $2.27 in New Haven and Meriden, $2.26 in greater Hartford, New London and Norwich. The statewide average is $2.29, which is the 19th highest in the nation.
