The bank will have a mobile shredder, courtesy of the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, in the parking lot of the bank at 3695 Post Road in Southport from 9 a.m. to noon.
Old documents and bills offer identity thieves the information needed to commit fraud. One of the best ways to minimize the risk of identity theft is to shred documents that are no longer in use that may contain information such as addresses, phone numbers, credit card information or social security numbers.
Forms such as preapproved credit card applications, old credit card bills, receipts, bank statements and tax returns that contain identifying information can be shredded Saturday.
