During a Level 1 emergency, all vehicles are prohibited from parking on city streets and must be removed no more than two hours after the start of the storm, according to the city website. Vehicles are allowed to park on city streets again once snow and ice control operations have ceased.

Boughton also said the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the Danbury area, and 4 to 8 inches of snow are expected overnight.

Residents who have nowhere other than the street to park their cars can park their vehicles in the Patriot parking garage for free throughout the storm.

Any cars left on the streets will be ticket and towed. In the reverse call, Boughton also asked residents to shovel the sidewalk in front of their houses.
