Red Cross, Danbury Fire Department Partner To Offer Free Smoke Alarms
The City of Danbury Fire Department in partnership with the American Red Cross spent their St. Patrick's Day visiting residents to install free smoke alarms as a way to help reduce/eliminate fire-related deaths and injuries. The day-long event included a continental breakfast, provided by Dunkin Donuts and an extraordinary lunch buffet hosted by Taste of South Africa, said Danbury Fire Department Spokesman James Gagliardo. Danbury City Councilman Selected As New State VA Commissioner
DANBURY, Conn. – Danbury City Councilman Thomas J. Saadi will be nominated to serve as the new Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs, Gov. Dannel Malloy announced Tuesday. WestConn In Danbury Closed Thursday Due To Snowstorm
DANBURY, Conn. — Western Connecticut State University will be closed Thursday, Jan. 4, and all classes are canceled due to the approaching snowstorm.Essential personnel should report for work as usual, WCSU said. Snow parking rules will be in effect, restricting parking to certain areas. All Midtown campus residents must park in the White Street garage (except the top deck). All Westside campus residents must park in the Centennial Garage (except on the top deck), on Sand Road or in the O'Neill Center Main lot.
