Danbury Man Dies After Kayak Capsizes On Long Island Sound
A man who was rescued along with his wife after their kayak capsized on the Long Island Sound has died after being hospitalized. The unidentified man is a Danbury resident in his 20s, according to the Stamford Police. The incident occurred around noon on Sunday, April 26 in the area of 160 Wallacks Drive, said the Stamford Fire Department Deputy Chief Eric Lorenz. When EMS and firefighters arrived on the scene after receiving a 911 call, they were able to locate the woman in the water on the east side of Wallacks Point about 20 feet from the rocks. A man and woman were hospitalized after a kayak capsized on the Long Island Sound. The incident happened in Fairfield County around noontime on Sunday, April 26. Officials have identified the person killed when a 17-foot-boat overturned in Long Island Sound. Eul Lee, 64, from Fort Lee, New Jersey, was killed during a boating accident in Long Island Sound on Sunday, Nov. 3, said the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection State Environmental Conservation Police. The cadet who went missing from the United States Military Academy at West Point has been found dead. The body of Kade Kurita was found on Tuesday night, Oct. 22, the academy announced on Wednesday morning, Oct. 23. Search efforts started when the cadet failed to show up for a military skills competition over the weekend. He was last seen at the academy on Friday, Oct. 18. A Stamford man who fell out of his boat was rescued by Greenwich Marine Police from Long Island Sound. The rescue took place on Saturday, Aug. 10, when Greenwich Marine Police received a call from boaters that there was a person in the water in distress in the area of Calf Island, said Greenwich Police Lt. Four men clinging to a partially submerged boat in the Long Island Sound that was spotted by a nearby oyster boat were rescued by a police marine unit in Westport. At approximately 2:30 p.m., Tuesday afternoon, June 18, the Westport Marine Unit responded to a call of four people in the water near Peck’s Ledge Lighthouse.
