Alleged Crime Family Member From Fairfield County Charged With Racketeering
Alleged members of the Genovese Organized Crime Family from Westchester and Fairfield counties are facing racketeering charges for their roles within the organization.
Federal prosecutors announced that four members and two associates of the family have been charged with racketeering conspiracy involving illegal gambling and extortion.

The number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Westchester continues to stabilize.
As of Monday, April 27, according to the New York State Department of Health, there have been 291,996 confirmed COVID-19 cases statewide, including 28,007 in Westchester. There have been 1,077 deaths tied to COVID-19 since the outbreak began 58 days ago.

The number of active novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Westchester has dipped below 9,000 for the first time in weeks.
During his daily virtual COVID-19 briefing, Westchester County Executive George Latimer announced on Thursday, April 23, that there have been 25,959 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 8,955 still active.

A Westchester man who worked as a school teacher has been charged with possession of child pornography and sexual assault following an extensive investigation in Fairfield County.
John Mueser, 69, of Tuckahoe, was arrested on Wednesday, April 1, by members of the Westchester County Safe Streets Task Force for the charges of possession of child pornography, risk of injury to a minor, sexual assault and voyeurism, said the Greenwich Police Department.

Yonkers, with the highest rate of confirmed novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Westchester, has now surpassed 1,000 for the first time during the pandemic according to new information released by the county.
As of Monday, April 6, there have been 43,955 people tested in Westchester, with 13,723 (31 percent) testing positive since the outbreak. There have been 122,031 positive tests statewide.

Police in Westchester arrested a well-known surgeon who lives on Long Island with a weapons cache after he was overheard threatening his estranged wife, investigators said.
Great Neck resident Matthew Bonanno, 47, who practices in the upper East Side in Manhattan, was overheard threatening his wife, who lives in Tuckahoe, officials said.
Police were contacted by acquaintances on Monday, Aug. 12, who overheard the threats against Bonanno's estranged wife and her family, and when they intervened, he was found with an illegal Glock and an arsenal in his BMW.
