Beloved School Crossing Guard In Trumbull Calls It A Career After spending some 37 years helping Trumbull children safely cross the streets on their way to school, a beloved crossing guard is calling it a career. A lifelong Trumbull resident, Shirley Sagliano, began her career as the crossing guard in September 1987. On Wednesday, June 12, she strapped on her vest and walked the last child across the street, said Trumbull Police Lt. Brain Weir. Sagliano developed an interest in the crossing guard position from a friend of hers who was already working as one. Suspect On Loose After Armed Man Robs Trumbull Subway Shop Police are asking the public for help in locating an armed man who allegedly robbed the Subway sandwich shop. The robbery took place around 9:23 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, at the shop on Quality Street, said Trumbull Police Lt. Brian Weir. A lone gunman entered the Subway and demanded money from the employees, Weir said. The employees complied with the gunman’s demands before be fled the shop with an undisclosed amount of cash, he added.
