Popular Restaurant Opens Brand-New Location In Fairfield County
A popular restaurant chain that specializes in tacos is debuting a brand-new location in Fairfield County.
The Taco Project opened a new location at 1111 High Ridge Road in Stamford in mid-April 12, according to a representative.
The owners also operate Westchester County locations in Tarrytown, Yonkers, Bronxville, and Pleasantville.
The restaurants offer a wide selection of tacos including chicken, fish, steak, shrimp, chorizo, cajun salmon, veggie, and more.
The Taco Project also serves burritos and burrito bowls, along with quesadillas and salads.

Danbury Man Arrested For Felony DWI, Resisting Arrest, Police Say
A Fairfield County man was arrested by New York State Police in Westchester for allegedly driving drunk with a suspended license.
Shamek Brown, age 49, of Danbury, was arrested on Wednesday, May 5 around 1:35 a.m., after being stopped on I-87 in Yonkers for a traffic violation, said Trooper Tara McCormick.
During the stop, McCormick said officers found that he was intoxicated and was driving with a suspended license.
When troopers attempted to take Brown into custody, he resisted arrest. He was eventually arrested and transported to state police headquarters in Tarrytown where he refused …
Drunk Driver From Fairfield County Crashes In Construction Zone, Police Say
A Fairfield County man was arrested for alleged DWI after crashing into the back of a construction vehicle in a work zone in Westchester.
Fabian Madera, age 43, of Shelton, was arrested around 10:20 p.m., Tuesday, March 23, after New York State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on I-95 in Mamaroneck, said Trooper Tara McCormick.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Madera was driving a Toyota Camry northbound, approaching a lane closure in a work zone when he rear-ended a construction vehicle blocking the right lane, McCormick said.

The number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Westchester continues to stabilize.
As of Monday, April 27, according to the New York State Department of Health, there have been 291,996 confirmed COVID-19 cases statewide, including 28,007 in Westchester. There have been 1,077 deaths tied to COVID-19 since the outbreak began 58 days ago.

The number of active novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Westchester has dipped below 9,000 for the first time in weeks.
During his daily virtual COVID-19 briefing, Westchester County Executive George Latimer announced on Thursday, April 23, that there have been 25,959 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 8,955 still active.

A New Jersey instructor with a competitive Irish dance organization sexually assaulted three boys, a trio of lawsuits filed in Hackensack charge.
