See It? Big Idaho Potato Truck Spotted On I-84 Headed Toward Danbury Did you see it? The Big Idaho Potato Truck was spotted on I-84 on Monday afternoon, July 8. This is the eighth cross-country journey for the enormous, four-ton spud that weighs more than 44,000 pounds (including the truck) and measures 72 feet. It began in 2012 as a one-year campaign to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the Idaho Potato Commission, but its immediate popularity has made it an annual tradition.
