Moose Sighting: Drivers Beware, Say State Wildlife Officials A moose is out exploring the world for spring, and Connecticut wildlife officials are warning drivers to beware. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said the moose has been spotted in Hartford County in the area of Route 20 in East Granby, within five miles of I-91. Though Connecticut’s moose population is small (about 100 individuals), moose can pose a serious threat to public safety if they wander onto roadways, DEEP officials said. CT Man Hit By Car After Stepping In Roadway A Connecticut man was struck by a car after stepping into a roadway outside of a crosswalk. The crash took place in Hartford County in East Granby around 7:17 a.m. According to the Connecticut State Police, David Addis, age 56, of Norwich, in New London County, was hit by a Honda Civic driven by Tiffany Wilkinson, age 23, of East Granby. The crash occurred when Addis entered Route 20 near the Enterprise Truck Rental outside of a designated crosswalk area, state police said.
