Fighting Couple On Side Of Road Nabbed With Drugs, Police Say An argument on the side of the road led to the arrest of a couple on drug charges in Fairfield County. Robert Franklin, 31 and Tanaisha Burrus, 27, both of Bridgeport, were arrested around 6 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 1, after the department received a report of an argument that had taken place on the side of the road between a man and a woman, said Monroe Police Lt. Stephen Corrone. Suspect From Area Nabbed In Robberies At Subway, People's Bank A man police have been searching for in connection with robberies at both Subway and the People's Bank has been arrested. On Thursday, detectives arrested Alvin Robertson, 55, last known address of Bridgeport,  in connection with the bank robbery at the People’s United Bank in Stop & Shop on Sept. 21, said the Watertown Police Department. Police Ask Public's Help In Finding Fairfield County Bank Robbery Suspect Have you seen him?Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who allegedly robbed a bank inside a local supermarket. The robbery took place just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the People's Bank inside the Stop & Shop on Route 111 in Monroe, Monroe Police said. The man, wearing a hat, glasses and a dark jacket, can be seen in the photo above.  Police didn't say if he had a weapon or how much money he got away with. Expect Closures: Route 7 Construction Work Starts There will be overnight lane closures throughout Connecticut, as contractors with the Connecticut Department of Transportation install rumble strips in various town. Beginning on Monday, Aug. 15, motorists can expect closures on Route 111 near Historic Drive to Old Church Road in Monroe. There will also be closures on Route 104 north of Butternut Lane in Stamford and on Route 7 in Wilton from Olmstead Hill Road toward Old Mill Road. Know Him? Police Search For Suspect In Area Subway Shop Robbery Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who robbed a Subway Shop over the weekend.According to Monroe Police, the man entered the Subway shop on Route 111 at around 6:13 p.m. Sunday and implied that he had a gun. The man, wearing dark glasses and a hat pulled low on his head, then demanded the clerk place all of the money in a sandwich bag and left the shop, police said. Police did not offer additional information. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Monroe police department at 203-261-3622.
