Rise In Abandoned Pets Reported By Ridgefield Police With the dog days of summer fast approaching, the animal shelters in Fairfield County have seen a rapid rise in abandoned pets being left at the door. The Ridgefield Police Department issued an alert this week noting that the local shelter, as well as animal shelters in surrounding towns, have seen several incidents of pets being left at the door, abandoned.
